Job Description

AMG is partnering with a highly regarded California law firm to hire an Associate Attorney. This role will represent employer clients in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters, partnering with clients and senior attorneys to develop strategy, manage cases, and drive successful outcomes.

Location: La Jolla, CA (On-site) | Pasadena, CA (1 day remote)

Compensation: $150,000 - $225,000 (DOE) + monthly bonus, benefits & profit sharing

What you'll be doing

  • Managing employment litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Defending single-plaintiff claims involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and related employment issues
  • Representing employers before the CRD, EEOC, and California Labor Commissioner
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, mediation briefs, and other litigation filings
  • Conducting and defending depositions and managing discovery processes
  • Advising clients on employment law compliance, case strategy, and risk assessment
  • Participating in mediations, court hearings, arbitrations, and trial preparation
  • Managing multiple matters while meeting deadlines and client expectations

What you'll need to have

  • Active admission to practice law in the State of California
  • 3-7+ years of employment litigation experience representing employers
  • Experience handling administrative charges and employment litigation in state and federal courts
  • Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, motions practice, and case management
  • Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, client service, and relationship-building skills
  • Arbitration, trial, or first-chair case management experience is a plus
